The Military
Freedom's Source
It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier, who salutes the flag...who serves under the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag...who allows the protestor to burn the flag.

Were it not for the brave...
there would be no land of the free.

The military protects the United States and the rest of the free world from the destructive intentions of tyrants and dictators.  Our military is under appreciated, under paid and too easily ignored.

The men and women who serve in our military deserve so much more than we give. While the rest of us go about our lives, enjoying the peace and prosperity safeguarded by the soldiers' steadfast commitment, the soldiers live in tents on the other side of the world, dreaming of the day when they come home to their families.

How much would you need to be paid to leave your family, the safety of your home and community and your friends to go fight a war in a remote and dangerous country, knowing that many of your countrymen would as soon spit on you for your service than thank you? Our soldiers fight for freedom, not money.

When you see a soldier, say thank you.  Let him know he is are appreciated. Let her know that no matter what she sees in the paper or hears on the news, most Americans stand behind her and value her service. If the soldier's children are there, thank them for sharing their parents.

Defend our troops.  Thank our troops.  Pray for our troops.
